Connect Google Search Console
Bring your own search evidence into the plan with optional, read-only access. Learn what the numbers can and cannot tell you.
Why connect your own search data?
Google Search Console can show the queries and pages already bringing your website visibility in Google Search. Connecting it lets Content Redefined AI use observed evidence alongside your business profile and website content when shaping the plan.
The connection is optional and read-only. It does not change your website or Search Console settings, submit content, or grant permission to publish. You can begin with site context and available research before connecting it.
Connect the correct property
- Make sure the Google account you will use has access to the website’s Search Console property.
- Open your project’s Brand & site page and find Google Search Console.
- Choose Connect Search Console if available. Review the Google consent screen and authorize read-only access.
- Select the property that covers the website in this project, then check the connection and sync state in the app.
Google sign-in for your app account and Search Console authorization are separate. Signing in with Google alone does not connect your performance data. If the connect option is unavailable, you can keep working without it and contact support.
Read the metrics without overinterpreting them
| Metric | What it helps you understand |
|---|---|
| Impressions | How often a result from your site was shown in the measured search data. |
| Clicks | Visits initiated from those search results. |
| CTR | The share of impressions that resulted in a click. |
| Average position | An aggregate indication of search position, not a fixed rank for every person. |
Use these as evidence of visibility, not as a measure of revenue or proof that one newly published article caused a change. Search demand, competition, seasonality, and other site changes can affect the same period.
Use evidence to ask better questions
An existing page with relevant impressions may deserve a clearer answer or a better next step. A query can reveal language your audience uses. Neither automatically means you should create another page. First consider whether the current page already serves that reader.
Example
If several queries ask how to reduce missed bookings, review the page they lead to. Does it explain a useful process? Is its title accurate? The data identifies a question to investigate; it does not prove which edit will improve performance.
When data is missing or delayed
A new site may have little data. A property mismatch, changed permissions, or an incomplete sync can also limit what is visible. Check the selected property and sync state before drawing conclusions.
The app uses finalized reporting periods rather than treating today’s partial figures as complete. Connected properties refresh in the background, and the app may offer a manual sync. If access has expired, reconnect when prompted. A failed refresh should retain the last healthy plan rather than replace it with weaker filler.
